Consulting in Development and Cultural Heritage

Genc Myftiu began writing and publishing poetry at the age of 14 in newspapers and magazines of the time in Albania.
He carried out elementary school in Shkodra (Ndoc Mazi, 1-6) and Tirana (Fan Noli 7-8) with exceptional results. He started to play volleyball since 10 years old (in Shkodra) and continued in Tirana untill 19 years old in “Dinamo” and “Studenti” professional teams.
He graduated “Sami Frasheri” high school (Gymnasium) in Tirana with high results and became famous for his stories and English language speaking and writing.
He studied mechanical engineering (1981-1986) and worked until 2000 in the Albanian mining industry, to start as an engineer and chief engineer in Mining Construction Enterprise until 1991.
He became well known at local and international level as Director of the Institute of Mining and Processing Technology Institute (MPTI) of Albania (1992 to 2000) as the leader of Mining Industry Reform and for the involvement of MPTI in 10 Pan-European Projects related to recycling technologies, environment and renewable energy resouces.
He returned to publishing in 1991 with more than one hundred articles and short stories, published in the newspapers of the time in the framework of the democratic movement of Albania in the years 1990-1992 (Wind of Change after the fall of Berlin Wall), in which he actively participated by founding more than 20 Democratic Party sections all over Albania and by publishing his articles in the newspapers.
In 1997 he founded SEDA (Agency for Sustainable Economic Development), a civil society organization that was active until 2023 with many projects won through free competition basis on the themes of environment, good governance, cultural heritage etc..
Genc Myftiu is the main author of the Guide on Albanian History and Cultural Heritage: "Albania a Patrimony of European Values" published in English in 2000 and 2001.
In 2004 he founded the company that bears his name (GENC MYFTIU), as a development consultancy, which is still active and focused on sustainable development, environment, marine spatial planning, cultural heritage, good governance and publications in national and international media.
Currently he is working on:
-Third edition of “Guide on Albanian History and Cultural Heritage”
-Volume II of “legends of Freedom, Pain and Love”
-Second edition of Poetry “Nuk Mbarohet Njeriu” (“The Human has No Limits”)
-Applications on tender basis for different projects
